There have been claims that Gina Dirawi will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, following an interview on Swedish television.
During the recording of the Swedish talk show, Hellenius Hörna on TV4, there are claims that Gina Dirawi, one of the program’s guests, accidentally mentioned her having been asked to host Eurovision 2024. These claims come from various people in the audience who have contacted the Swedish newspaper, Aftonbladet.
These claims are not shown during the televised program and are said to have been cut, as well as Gina herself told the audience not to spread the information further.
Gina Dirawi is a well-known Swedish comedian and presenter, who previously hosted Melodifestivalen 2012, 2013 and 2016. She also gave out the points of the Swedish jury at Eurovision 2016.
These claims are far from confirmed and it is therefore unclear whether Gina Dirawi will host the contest or not, as nothing is official yet. There is no date for when this could be announced, nor how many hosts there will be.
Eurovision 2024
Loreen won the 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden with “Tattoo”. She is the first female two-time winner of the competition, having previously won the 2012 contest with “Euphoria”.
This is Sweden’s seventh Eurovision win, following victories in 1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012 and 2015. This makes Sweden the joint most successful country in Eurovision alongside Ireland. Loreen has also become the first woman and the second person overall to win Eurovision twice.
Malmö will host the contest for the third time, having previously hosted in 1992 and 2013.
